Bali, the enchanting island of Gods... With its beautiful nature, warm and hospitable locals, and of course traditional and spiritual atmosphere, Bali has captured the hearts of travelers worldwide. While renowned as a popular honeymoon destination, Bali offers a diverse experience that resonates with every soul. Here you'll find our expert guides and suggested itineraries to help you make the most of your Bali adventure.

General Information About Bali:

Currency

Transportation

Renting car: With vast distances, scorching weather, and unique road conditions like narrow lanes, heavy traffic, and left-side driving, cars take a backseat so try to avoid using cars whenever you can.

Using App: Grab or Gojek (car and motorbike alternatives). These two apps are perfect if you can't drive. They can easily cover long distances (10km+ with Grab Car)or nearby spots by Grab Bike*.

Duration of the stay

At least 10 days (less than 10 days is also possible, but it will be a bit of a rush)

Best Time to Visit

December to March: It is the heavy rainfall season so it won't be the ideal time to visit Bali.

June and August: It is the dry season. However, the island is very full and prices reach the highest points so you may not enjoy Bali.

April- May & September to November: These are the shoulder seasons. The weather is less rainy, the island is less crowded and prices are more affordable. We personally preferred late April.

WHAT TO DO?

1. ATTRACTIONS:

Visit Tanah Lot Temple: In Canggu, you can visit the Tanah Lot temple for a beautiful sunset. This temple is almost in the ocean. It is a very nice spot to take pictures, watch the waves and dream.

2. EXPERIENCES:

Watch sunrise and sunset: In Bali, sunrise and sunset are watched and celebrated like a ritual! Set your clocks for the sunrise and watch the sunrise and beautiful view of surfers on the beach by getting your coffee from the small coffee shops on the way to the beach (We tried GigiSusu and we liked it, but there are different alternatives as well.). We tried The Lawn and we had chance to get the last bistro.

Best Options for Sunrise: Anywhere near the ocean, or the beach itself. The day starts very early in Canggu especially surfers as it is less crowded for surfing and the weather is better to catch the waves.

Best Options For Sunset:

  • The Lawn

  • La Brisa

  • Potato Head

  • Finns Beach Club

  • Tanah Lot Temple

Surfing: We highly recommend giving surfing a try. In just 2-3 lessons, you can experience the joy of finding balance on your board and riding the waves. Don't worry about falling into the water; it's all part of the adventure. Surprisingly, surfing is easier and less dangerous than you might think. Plus, it provides an excellent upper-body workout*. We have tried Nengah Private Surfing School and we were satisfied

Yoga & Meditation: Bali is one of the best places where you can enjoy yoga and meditation. Almost in every part of Bali, there is a yoga studio where you can join.

LOCALIST TIPS

Choose your payment method wisely while using Gojek or Grab: You have the option to select your payment method when booking a motorbike or car. However, once you have chosen a payment method, it is not possible to change it afterward.

Book your surfing lesson with a professional teacher: When it comes to learning to surf, it's important to make the right choice. While you may encounter individuals offering to teach you in 1-2 lessons at Batu Bolong beach in Canggu, if you truly want to learn efficiently, it's best to opt for professional surf instructors. Although the cost of these courses may seem slightly higher (around 100,000 to 150,000 Indonesian Rupiah), having an experienced teacher who speaks English well will accelerate your learning process. We recommend you book lessons with trusted instructors at least one day in advance.

Book your surfing lesson at an early time in the morning: If you are a beginner, morning hours would be very good for learning surf since it is less crowded and the waves are good.

Clean Water Problem: Water in Bali is not totally clean. Therefore avoid using tap water and try to choose clean spaces for food.

Sunset hour is pretty early in Bali: Sun goes down around 6- 6.15 p.m. in Bali. Therefore you should plan your day accordingly.

Nightlife is not very common: In Bali all-night-long parties are not very common as people wake up with the sunrise in the morning for yoga or surfing. For those who are interested in parties may enjoy beach parties at sunset or choose one of the few club options like Potato Head.
